Derbyshire Diaries | The Great Big 2018 Round Up

After the busiest year of weddings ever blogging fell by the wayside for the last few months! But I’m back and I’m ready to show you a great big collection of photos and wedding films from last year!

The year saw me head all over the country (note to self, booking four weddings in five days: Dorset > York > Nottingham > Brighton wasn’t your smartest plan ever but it was a LOT of fun) and off to Stockholm, Berlin and Tokyo (AT LAST!)

I had incredible feedback from of my wedding couples that made my heart swell here’s a little taster:

“She felt very much like a guest at our intimate wedding and would recommend her anytime. “

”On the day Hannah was so calming and reassuring. She was a true professional but felt like a friend. Lots of our guests commented on how friendly she was and asked how we knew her, they were surprised to hear we only met that morning! “

“Hannah was great. Very friendly and easy to speak to, and instantly made the whole process more fun and relaxed for our couple shots. From then on in we don't really remember seeing Hannah much through the day (which we put down as a good thing), except for when she went out of her way to get Anjli canapes - superstar! We loved all of our wedding shots!”

“You did such an amazing job being a part of our day, joining in with dancing and talking to our guests, just being generally lovely and friendly! We had so many people ask if you were a friend, and so many people commented on how awesome you were for interacting with us all! I’m so pleased with the photos, they came out exactly how I hoped - natural, candid, beautiful! I could not have asked for a better/more talented photographer and the photos are the most perfect way to look back on a wonderful day.”

“Everything that a photographer should be. Stunning images, professional etc. Also a really fun person. Got involved without being asked when she was needed for things little and big alike. Somehow managed to be a relaxing presence when I'd assumed having someone around documenting things would feel strange.”

“We must have watched our video at least 150 times by now and it is our most valuable documentation of the wedding day; nothing can compare! You captured every moment, every hug, and it really brings us back to the day. In terms of the photos, it has been so hard to choose a favourite, there isn't a single one we don't like. Despite not being the most confident people in front of a camera, you made us feel so comfortable, and so when we look at our photos, they don't look staged, they look like 'us'.”

“Hannah was the perfect photographer and I feel so fortunate to have had her take photos at my wedding. It was instantly like having another mate there - we only met on the day but loads of my guests assumed we were friends who had known each other for ages. “

“Hannah was a joy to be around on our wedding day. She was so easy to get along with and she put us at ease throughout the day. Many of our guests said to us afterwards that they really liked Hannah as she fitted in like she was one of the guests! As soon as we saw her website we knew that we wanted her to be our photographer as she captures the light and colours so well. Our wedding photos are absolutely beautiful and we couldn't have asked for better.”

“From start to finish Hannah was brilliant! She was lovely to work with, and really reassuring and supportive of the style we wanted. She really knows how get a beautiful shot without interrupting anything, the only other time we’ve had such stunning candid photos of ourselves was when we she was taking them at a friends wedding when we first met her.”

“You are not just an incredible photographer but amazingly professional, friendly, approachable, versatile, helpful, calming, kind and sincere. We now have hundred of gorgeous, emotional and heartfelt photos to look back on from our big day and we cannot thank you enough!”

“Hannah was nothing but absolutely brilliant from the first time we got in touch and that's not just because we both have a serious obsession with Japan. I had so many people say to me after the wedding 'Your photographer was so nice! I also didn't notice she was taking the photos and then I'd see her out the corner of my eye.' One of the best moments has to have been in the Ceilidh dance when everyone would hold hands in a huge circle and then run into the middle, without even knowing how or when, Hannah had positioned herself right there to capture the energetic shots. Those are really amazing to see and I'm so glad she captured the fun and atmosphere in these images. Then she even stayed until well into the night to make sure she had all of the key shots which is not something a lot of Photographers would do.”

I absolutely love my job and my clients and it makes me so happy to see the same things come up again and again throughout the feedback. My aim is always to try and blend in with the feel of a wedding, so I can get in amongst the action rather than capturing it from the outside.

Time. For. All. The. Photos.

Here’s a mix of all kinds of work from last year: weddings, family shoots, travel & more.

Buckle up guys, this is a big one - I never could choose favourites!!

Aside from photographing I also make wedding films, often at the same time as taking photos. I absolutely love editing videos! Here’s a handful of my wedding films from last year. Grab some popcorn and settle in…

And that’s all for my 2018 round-up! A huge thank you to all of my couples for trusting me to be part of your day - you guys are AWESOME! I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store…
