Summer was so busy that it's taken me weeks to be able to dedicate some time to putting together this post for you all. I've been itching to do it, but I've been swimming in editing and deadlines and admin. But it's finally time to share it with you! Grab a cuppa and settle on in... time to see what July and August looked like at Camera Hannah HQ.

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS

It's been a rather busy one, so let's start with some of the work I've been doing...

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE

When I am photographing my usual work, such as weddings I shoot a huge volume of images. This is part and parcel of being primarily a documentary-style photographer... you are constantly moving and capturing... there's not a lot of time to slow down. So when I planned a travel photography trip to Italy in August I wanted it to be completely different to how I would usually work. Armed with my Canon 1V I slowed down and created all these images on experimental 35mm film.

WEDDINGS

But it wasn't all swanning around Italy, pizza in one hand, camera in the other... July and August were the busiest months of the year for me shooting weddings. I found myself in Yorkshire several times, London, Didsbury, Leamington Spa, Sullington Manor Barn, filmed Billerette bridesmaids in Buxton, photographed a handfasting by a waterfall and second shot a wedding with my lovely pal Lucy G Photography at The West Mill in Derby (total dreamboat of a venue and only ten minutes from my house! swoon!)

WIZARD PHOTOS (VIDEO)

Here's the wedding films I made for my July & August weddings, starting with Louisa & Dan's super peppy Buxton wedding which was my only video-only booking, the rest were filmed alongside my usual photography. p.s. did you know I run filmmaking for photographer workshops? Still a couple of spots available, and message me if you'd like me to organise another near you.

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING

The height of wedding season inevitably means life goes on the back burner while you hop from wedding to wedding and try to keep on top of editing. Nearly all the fun stuff I did manage to do was music-related though and it was rather wonderful so I can't complain!

A SUMMER WASTING

Summer means school holidays. Here's a few shots of my tiny weirdos from the six week break...

THINGS I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO

If you've got Spotify, click the picture below to listen to my playlist of recent releases.

Featuring: Stars (I have their new album playing right now and oh boy picking songs for my September/October playlist is going to be a challenge because it is wonderful!) Alvvays, Belle & Sebastian and The National.

And that's that for another round-up! It won't be too long before the next one, hopefully with... October running away us already! Enjoy the crunchy leaves and the novelty of cardigan weather before winter sets in!  And in the words of Adam Buxton, whose excellent podcast has seen me through many a long car journey and editing session over the past couple of months... ILOVEYOUBYE!
